Shai Azoulay

Azoulay lives and works in Jerusalem, where he earned both his BFA and MFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. His work has been showcased in major solo exhibitions worldwide, including New York, London, Tokyo, Vienna, and Beijing, with notable shows at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2011), the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art (2018), and Yad Vashem (2024).

A recipient of prestigious awards such as the Landau Prize (2020), the Mozes Prize, and the Tel Aviv Museum’s "Morasha" award, Azoulay’s paintings explore narratives rich with figures and scenes radiating warmth, compassion, and irony. His style seamlessly bridges drawing and painting, blending sophistication with naivety and power with vulnerability.
