Eran Shakin was born in Israel in 1962. Shakin studied art at Wizo Art School Israel. From 1987-92 he lived and worked in New York as the assistant of the artist Carl Appel.He has had solo shows at Herzlia museum, The museum of Israeli art in Ramat Gan-Israel,Givon Fine Arts Gallery-Tel aviv to name a few.
Winner of the "Art Matters" grant of 1989 and the 1995 Artist in residence, “cite”, Paris. Shakine is part of various important  public and private collections including; Israel Museum, Jerusalem,Tel Aviv Museum, Israel ,The British Museum, London and Ludwig Museum, Aachen, Germany. Shakin lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel.
